Although Serenity may not seem like a typical dog, she radiates the same level of liveliness and cheerfulness as any young canine. Despite any negativity that the world may project onto her, she remains content and grateful for the affection she has received.
I recently met a lovely Siberian husky wandering the streets of San Antonio, Texas. Unfortunately, due to a large tumor on her face, she couldn’t find a caring home. However, there was still hope for her when Dallas Dog Rescue Rehab Reform decided to relocate her to Dallas, Texas, to provide her with a new lease of life.
Introducing Serenity! Upon meeting her, Serenity’s foster parent Patti Dawson immediately noticed the cute puppy’s cheerful demeanor. Serenity approached Patti with excitement, eager to receive some affection and attention. However, there is a sad reality that Serenity’s life may be limited. This is because the vet confirmed that her invasive tumor has affected the bones in her face, including her nasal cavity, eye sockets, and skull. Despite this, Serenity is still able to breathe, eat, and see for now. Although some may worry that Serenity might be in pain, Dawson assures everyone that Serenity seems to be comfortable and content. Nonetheless, Dawson understands that this might change as time goes by.
Dawson expressed that while the news was not what they had hoped for, they are not giving up on loving Serenity and providing her with a good life. To make sure the remaining time for Serenity is memorable, Dawson indulged her with tasty dishes and frequent play sessions. Additionally, she enlisted the help of a photographer to take stunning pictures of Serenity, which would encourage individuals to contribute towards her care.
Renee Dowhaniuk, an animal photographer, recently caught the attention of many when she took some incredible photos of Serenity, a puppy from a shelter. The photos were shared online by the shelter and quickly went viral as people were touched by Serenity’s story and wanted to help her. Dowhaniuk’s philosophy is to never take a sad picture of an animal. Instead, she believes in capturing the full potential and spirit of the animal. This was evident in the way she photographed Serenity. As soon as Serenity was lifted out of the vehicle and placed on the ground, her nose started working and her tail began wagging. Dowhaniuk was quick to capture this moment and it resulted in some beautiful photos that showcased Serenity’s lively personality. This serves as a lesson for all pet owners and animal photographers – to focus on capturing the spirit of the animal rather than just taking a sad picture. By doing so, we can highlight the unique personalities and traits of our furry friends and show the world how special they truly are.
Soon enough, a plethora of donations flooded into the Serenity shelter. The shelter was inundated with over 300 packages filled with wonderful gifts for the pups. Each time Serenity receives a package, she is over the moon with excitement. It can be said that she will be thoroughly pampered for the rest of her days, just as she deserves. Dawson explained that when the time comes, Serenity will bid her farewell. But, for now, she will continue to enjoy living her best life in the care of her loving foster home. If you’re interested in contributing to the well-being of Serenity or any other dog that the shelter looks after, please have a look at their wishlist. Don’t forget to share this heartwarming tale with your loved ones!
